By the Name

Today I read 1 Samuel for my Bible read-thru group. I was struck how often God fulfilled blessings people had proclaimed over others in the name of God. The power of the name of God (and Jesus!) is truly amazing. In this book alone God wins battles, grants children, destroys families, establishes dynasties, and kills giants, all for the sake of His name. No wonder we are commanded to revere His name!
