Leadership
So, I had this conversation with Brian a couple of months ago, and he gave me the role of intern developer for our church. Last week we had another conversation, and he wants me to develop a "curriculum" of sorts that we can use for future interns. I've been thinking lately (yes, it does actually happen sometimes!). I remember as a kid thinking of leaders as cool. I always wanted to be one. My friends would always talk about the rank they would want if they were on a ship, I would always want captain. I think there's a huge part of me that has always wanted to be in charge. However, I have been learning lately how scary that can be (not trying to complain). I have a newfound respect for people like Brian and Tim who lead us in NieuCommunities. To lead from the front is scary. A leader is exposed to crap thrown at them by both those behind and those facing him/her. It can be rewarding to see those you're trying to develop start to "get it", but discouraging when they don't. Suddenly, instead of going to someone else for the answers, you become Captain Answer. It makes me thankful to be part of a team. It lets me know that I am not alone and that if I don't know something, we can search for it together. Brian does an awesome job of leading us, and I don't know how he does it. I'm just thankful for a good example.

Building News
Well, we heard today that our bid for the building wasn't accepted. The agents gave us no details on the winning bid. That doesn't mean we won't get the building though. Our guess is that the buyer bought it with the idea that they could apply to get it rezoned for flats or a pub or something. However, it is highly unlikely that the council will approved of such an application, so we may still have a chance! God is good, and our trust remains in Him.
